'The bugger gets everywhere'

Friday, three o'clock - this time last year (2003) that meant lunchtime. I was working at a weirdo company near Tower Bridge, start at 11, finish at 7. I can't afford Prêt every day, but do have a soft spot for its humus-filled wrap, which is a good job, as it's usually about the only thing left at this time.

Now look, before I go any further, I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I LIKE Sting, and was delighted to hear, as I bought my egg and cress sandwich (damn, not a humus wrap in sight) that every little thing she does is, remarkably, still magic, and after all these years. Well done ma'am, whoever you are.

Being Friday, there's a lunchtime pint on the cards too, a solitary affair then (I've changed jobs now, thank god. Those weirdos - no Friday lunchtime pint - what's THAT about?!) so it's over Crosswall, and into The Angel, which has a lovely view of, errr… the Prêt a Manger. Bloody hell, here he is again, diferent radio station, same bloke, another serenade. It's Roxanne, and she's still putting on that fuggin red light. Hmmm... maybe she's the same woman who does every little thing magically. That could be why she's still in business at her age, she must be at least 50 now if she's a day. Come on love, knock it on the head.

So there you have it, 20 years on and wherever you go in this grim city, you still can't get away from him. But do you think that's what this site is about? Sting cropping up on the radio a lot? OH no, Sting pops up in FAR more places than that. I haven't even STARTED yet.

Does he? I never realised. Tell me all about it
So what? Who cares - get a life!
